Professionals Win 2006 Century Club Matches
Overall 35th Year Old Series Is Led by Professionals

ProfessionalsLocal professional team members in the Century Club Matches know about winning. For the past three years, the Professional side has defeated their Amateur opponents by the score of 14-10.

The 35th edition of the Century Club Matches was played at La Jolla Country Club and moved the professionals to the overall matches lead with an 18-17 advantage. The last Century Club Matches lead by the Professional team was following the 1990 event held at Fairbanks Ranch Country Club. During the final day of this year’s individual matches, the Professionals won 7 ˝ to 4 ˝ for victory after holding a one-point lead going into the 12 matches.

Professionals who won their Individual Matches included: Rick Lindeman, Monte Leong, Bruce Nakamura, Chuck Minerd, Jason Edmiston, Tim Parun and Scott Mahlberg. Amateur winners were: John Hoffman, David Schneider, Don O’Connor and Gerry Simoni. Lindeman was the professional star, winning all three matches during the competition.

The Century Club Matches Amateur team is selected by accumulating points throughout the year by playing in the San Diego County Tournament Committee and SCGA events. The professional team is selected by participation in the San Diego Chapter of the PGA of America tournaments.
