2006 WINTER SCORE CARD
Century Club - Paving the Way
As the leader in raising funds to over 200 San Diego based organizations and high schools, this year’s goal for the Century Club is to continue that tradition. As expected, the Buick Invitational announced in September, another tournament record of $2.15 million donated to local charities.
The majority of the funds came from the Century Club’s Support Our Schools (S.O.S) program and Chip-In for Charity program. This past year, the S.O.S. program generated an unprecedented $535,010 along with the inaugural Chip-In for Charity program which surpassed expectations by bringing in $138,300 to local charities. Funds were also generated from the Helicopter Ball Drop, San Diego Junior Golf Fundraisers, Pro Kids Golf Academy Tournament and auction, and Military Appreciation activities.
Since its inception in 1968, the Century Club has collaborated to donate over $11 million to local charities. Tim Finchem, PGA TOUR Commissioner, states that “we strive to withhold our tradition of raising money to make an impact in our local community. However, we will or would not have surpassed our goals if it weren’t for everyone’s collaborated effort.” The Buick Invitational knows the only way to reach their goal is by people like you continuing to make a direct impact.
